Macdonald Medallion Programme

Unique to Macdonald Collegiate is our very successful Medallion Programme which seeks to meet the special needs of highly motivated, high-achieving students. A Medallion course provides students with enrichment opportunities beyond the regular curriculum.

Available in September 2000 are 21 Medallion courses from Grade 9 through Grade 12, from which students may make one or more selections.

Students may apply for admission to a Medallion course at any time in their high school careers, usually during option selection time in February. Admission is based on teacher recommendation and strong academic performance.

Any students wishing future admission to any Medallion course will be offered individualized counselling, instruction, and upgrading opportunities on a voluntary basis.

Please note: Grade 10 Medallion math candidates are expected to have written the Pascal Mathematics Contest while in Grade 9.
