Department of History

Department Information

The History department is one of the largest departments in the school with 12 teachers teaching at least one class of history. In addition to a wide variety of History courses, we also offer a broad range of other disciplines such as Law, Politics, Philosophy and Social Science.

Why History?

Alphonse de Lamartine once said, "History teaches everything including the future." We, in the History department, agree with this and strive to not only impart knowledge of the past but also to equip our students with the essential skills necessary for their future endeavors.

What's new

• The History department has begun a combined History and Politics club. This club meets every other Thursday in room 117.
• This year's March Break trip will be to New York and other historic U.S. sites. See Mr. Brown for details.
• Civics students are working closely with the Youth Philanthropy Initiative this year.
