Department of Art

Department Information

The Visual Art Department rocks at Macdonald. Ms Hattin and Ms Piperias are the two awesome art instructors here at Mac. Ms Piperias brings her love and expertise in Art History while Ms Hattin brings her background as a Scenic Artist in the film and television industry to the classroom. Together they have developed an extensive art program with everything from Ancient Egypt to Post-modernism, wire sculpture to altered books.

We exhibit student work throughout the school as well as having special in-class gallery tours so the whole school can come and visit our amazing art space.

Art is about thinking – drawing - painting – sculpting and playing outside of the box.

Department Goals

The goal of the department is to produce quality, original art works that can compete with the best in any high school anywhere.
